Five reasons to visit Chamonix

Reason #1

It is no secret that Chamonix is a big playground for both skiers and boarders to enjoy some fantastic off-piste winter skiing. 90% of Chamonix’s skiing is located above 2000m, which makes it the perfect destination for early and late season skiing. The highest skiable area of Grands Montets which towers up to 3300m, offering exceptional conditions through to Easter, some areas staying open until May.  Les Houches is our favourite family skiing area, and perfect for beginners. Thats a few good reasons to visit in the winter, and we haven't even started yet! 

Reason #2

If skiing and winter holidays are not your thing you will be surprised to know that Chamonix has more visitors in the summer than the winter.... Why? because it is the ultimate playground for all other outdoor activities and exhilarating sports. From rock or ice climbing, golf and tennis, glacier and mountain trekking, mountain and road cycling, paraglying, white water rafting, canyoning, to kids camps, there really is something for everyone. You will not be disappointed with the variety of activities during the summer months.

Reason #3

However, do not be put off that Chamonix is for the pro's or sports fanatics. Come and simply enjoy the wonderful atmosphere of the vibrant Alpine town. The pedestrian centre offers a great selection of boutiques, cafés, and a wide choice of restaurants, including two Michelin star restaurants. There are plenty of wonderful walks at the valley level suitable for everyone including kids, as well as great flat cycle routes along the river through the woods suitable for families, with great picnic spots, pony rides and snack huts.

Reason #4

Chamonix is the perfect family holiday destination with beautiful sunny weather to be enjoyed, it is a fabulous family place to visit with an outdoor swimming pool, stunning lakes, high ropes park (suitable for all ages with 5 different course levels). There is so much to enjoy in this wonderful resort you will never be short of things to do!

Reason #5

If you always holiday on a beach then Chamonix is a hidden gem, if you want to avoid all the queue's, busy beaches, and manic airports then you will be pleased to learn it is only a short flight from the UK to Geneva, and only a one hour transfer from the airport to the valley. You can be having lunch in the sun, with the most spectacular views before you know it, quicker than driving to the South of England!!!
